PFT Retiree Chapter: Teachers for Life

Ours is a vibrant and active chapter, with events, luncheons, trips, educational opportunities and numerous ways to remain engaged, involved and absolutely essential to the cause of education that has so enriched our lives.

Political Involvement

The AFT has quite a few opportunities to volunteer your time and talents this political season.

You can do postcards, phone bank, peer-to-peer text or canvass among other things.  We at the PFTR are particularly proud of the part we played in developing the AFT’s Adopt A District program.  (See link below)

This is a program where volunteers focus on a particular congressional race. The districts that were selected were chosen because they are competitive contests in a swing state with a competitive senatorial race as well.

We also looked for districts that might include consequential state elections. We are thrilled to announce the CD PA 17 (Rep. Chris Deluzio’s district) has been included in this worthwhile effort.  If you would like to explore and/or sign up for any of these options, please go to:    go.aft.org/volunteer

You can also join the AFT Retiree’s dynamic group, the AFTerburners. We are the political activism arm of the AFT Retiree division. No previous training or experience is required. We will provide all of the necessary training.
