Educational Research & Dissemination

2023 AFT Professional Development Classes Available!

The PFT is proud to offer our membership additional AFT Professional Development opportunities, and one of our mainstays has been the longest running Educational Research & Dissemination (ER&D) program in the United States.

UPDATE!  Classes for Fall of 2023 now open for enrollment!  Click here course descriptions, dates and times!

AFT Professional Development (formerly ER&D) coursework is designed to help teachers manage instructional time more effectively, minimize discipline problems, maximize student attentiveness, improve student achievement, explore new classroom-tested techniques with colleagues, and engage in dialogue with leading education researchers about professional challenges and concerns.

What’s more, ER&D classes qualify for Act 48 hours and are valid toward Level II Certification!

ER&D Classes Are Available Two Times Per Year, Minimum.

Generally available in 10 weekly class increments right here at the PFT, ER&D is offered two and sometimes three times per year, depending upon the availability of instructors and equally important, MEMBER INTEREST.

Look for class availability updates in your Tuesday Blast and Nina’s Notes.
