Community Schools Taskforce
A community school is both a place and a set of partnerships between the school and other community resources.
Its integrated focus on academics, health and social services, youth and community development, and community engagement leads to improved student learning, stronger families, and healthier communities.
The PFT’s Community Schools (CS) Taskforce is a team of individuals active within our district’s Community Schools (or schools that are becoming CS or interested in becoming CS) who meet once a month to share current events and best practices affecting the day-to-day life of CS students and educators alike.
Our current Community Schools are:
Arlington, Arsenal, Faison, King, Langley, Lincoln, University Prep and Westinghouse.Â
As a member of the CS taskforce, you’ll be deeply involved in the active, lively conversation and actions that help community schools develop and thrive!
